St Michael’s Cathedral

Collaboration with Basil Spence on Coventry Cathedral took our practice to London. Rebuilt after a bombing raid in 1940, Spence’s design preserved the ruins and united old and new parts of the church with a garden of remembrance.  With its integration of services and collaborative teamwork, the project brought Scandinavian approaches to the U.K. including an unobtrusive underfloor heating system, providing radiant warmth in the capacious space.
